Bakersfield Habitat Conservation Plan
The new Bakersfield Habitat Conservation Plan (BHCP) is a joint plan proposed by the City of Bakersfield and the County of Kern intended to provide regional conservation strategies and specific development guidelines to protect natural resources while improving and streamlining the permit process.
Community Relations Programs

Disadvantage Business Enterprise Program
It is the policy of the City of Bakersfield to ensure that Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, as defined in Part 26, have an equal opportunity to receive and participate in U.S. Department of Transportation assisted contracts.
Public Safety & Vital Services Measure
The Public Safety and Vital Services Measure is a locally controlled one-cent sales tax measure that will provide approximately $58 million annually to the City of Bakersfield to address top community priorities including enhancing public safety, reducing homelessness, and bolstering economic development activities.
